Governor Amos Nyaribo Launches Barabara Mashinani

Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo has launched road opening and maintenance works in Gachuba Ward, Kitutu Masaba Constituency, under the county government’s Barabara Mashinani Initiative, aimed at improving access roads and enhancing connectivity across rural areas.

The programme was officially flagged off at Nyapara 4, where Governor Nyaribo said the initiative will be implemented using county-owned machinery to rehabilitate key road networks that have long hindered transport and economic activities.

Speaking during the launch, the governor noted that improving rural roads remains one of his administration’s priorities, saying the upgraded infrastructure will ease the movement of people, agricultural produce, and essential services while opening up more areas for development.

The first phase of the programme will focus on the maintenance and opening of the following roads:

• Nyapara 4 – Kiamogiti – Geteni – Riamoreri – Nyaibasa
• Motumesi – Nyagancha Primary – Ereru – Nyasumi Primary
• Riamayoyo TBC – Girango Junction
• Eberege – Kiomonso – Kiang’ende
• Girango – Riokero – Egoroba
• Nyangori – Riamose Police Post
• Riamanyura Junction – Bwabene Ibiso
• Gucha Junction – Gechona
• Gekano TBC – Kegogi Primary School
• Riamokaya – Bantu – Ribwago
• Kegogi Eronge – Gucha TBC
• Kebirichi SDA – Riamoreri TBC
• Omogere – Kebirichi SDA

The launch was attended by members of the Nyamira County Assembly, led by the Chairperson of the Roads and Public Works Committee Hon. Nyambega Gisesa and Vice Chairperson Hon. Charles Keganda. Also present were Deputy Speaker Hon. James Mating’a, Manga MCA Hon. Samwel Ogeto, and Gachuba MCA Hon. Henry Obwaya, who reaffirmed their support for the initiative.

County leaders said the road maintenance programme is expected to improve transport, boost local trade, enhance access to schools and health facilities, and stimulate economic growth in Gachuba Ward and neighbouring areas.
