Senator Okenyuri Condemns Brutal Killing of Two Girls in Kisii, Demands Justice

KISII, Kenya, July 9, 2026 —Nominated Senator Essy Okenyuri has strongly condemned the killing of two young children in Bomorenda Ward, Bonchari Constituency, describing the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy that has shaken the conscience of society.
In a statement released on Thursday, the senator said she was devastated by reports that the two children, aged four and five, were allegedly violated and later killed in Nkura Village.
“It is extremely difficult to comprehend how, as a society, we have descended to a point where our children—the very embodiment of innocence and our hope for tomorrow—become victims of such unimaginable cruelty,” she said.
Okenyuri questioned how society could fail to protect its most vulnerable members, saying there can never be any justification for violence against children.
The senator conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families, saying no parent should ever endure the pain of losing a child under such horrific circumstances. She prayed for God to grant the families strength and comfort during their time of grief.
She also urged investigative agencies to handle the case with urgency, calling for a thorough investigation to establish the truth, arrest those responsible, and ensure justice is delivered without delay.
