A dormitory at Nyabisase Mixed Secondary School in Bobasi was on Monday destroyed by fire following reported tensions over the posting of a new principal to replace retired Chief Principal David Ogega.

The blaze, whose cause has not yet been officially established, razed the dormitory and destroyed students’ personal belongings and other property of unknown value.

The incident comes amid unrest at the school linked to the appointment of a new principal after the retirement of Chief Principal David Ogega. Authorities are yet to confirm whether the fire was directly connected to the leadership dispute.
