Jubilee Party has established an inter-party coalition-building committee to strengthen cooperation among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The decision was reached during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting chaired by Party Leader and presidential candidate Dr Fred Matiang’i on October 27, 2026.

In a statement dated October 28, 2026, and signed by Secretary General Hon. Moitalel Ole Kenta, the party said the committee would spearhead engagements with like-minded political parties and coalitions to explore opportunities for cooperation and political realignment.

The committee will be chaired by Senator Kembi Gitura, with Hon. Moitalel Ole Kenta serving as its National Secretary General and Hon. Janet Ong’era as a member.

Jubilee seeks stronger opposition unity

Among the committee’s key responsibilities will be reviewing and proposing amendments to the draft Deed of Agreement for the Ukombozi Alliance (TUA), if necessary.

It will also engage other opposition parties to explore avenues for cooperation and coalition-building, as well as develop proposals aimed at strengthening unity and collaboration ahead of the 2027 elections.

The NEC reaffirmed Jubilee Party’s commitment to constructive dialogue and the pursuit of a common agenda for the country’s transformation.

The party noted that building consensus and strengthening unity among opposition parties would be essential in preparing for the next General Election.

The committee is expected to submit its recommendations to the NEC for consideration and further direction, although the statement did not specify a reporting deadline.

The move comes as political parties position themselves for the 2027 elections, with coalition arrangements and negotiations expected to shape opposition strategies.

Jubilee appoints interim party officials

In addition to establishing the coalition-building committee, the NEC approved the appointment of two interim officials to fill vacant party positions.

Ms Lucy Naisiaie Kashu was appointed Interim Chairperson of the Party Women’s Caucus, while Ms Madina Yunis Mahat was named Interim Deputy National Organizing Secretary.

The appointments are intended to ensure continuity in the party’s operations as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.

Party wishes learners success in national examinations

The NEC also extended its best wishes to learners across the country sitting their national examinations.

The party specifically mentioned the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), Kenya Primary Education Assessment (KIPSEA), Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KIPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2026 examinations, as listed in its statement.

Jubilee wished all candidates success and encouraged them as they undertake their examinations.

The statement concluded with the party’s slogan, “Mbele Pamoja,” reaffirming its message of unity as it begins engagements aimed at strengthening opposition cooperation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
