Mourning was temporarily put aside  after a  heated moment erupted at a burial ceremony involving former West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi Mogaka  and Nyamira County Governor Amos Nyaribo’s camp. According to the clip and accounts shared online, the tension began after lawyer Danstan Omari addressed mourners and invited Governor Nyaribo to speak. When Kemosi attempted to take the microphone, he was reportedly denied the chance to address the crowd—sparking a brief confrontation over access to the podium.

In the circulating video, Kemosi is heard insisting that he only wanted to “pass his condolences” to the bereaved family, but the situation escalated as different political camps jostled over speaking rights. The incident briefly disrupted the proceedings before order was restored.

Vincent Kemosi, who previously served as West Mugirango MP, is also the Jubilee Party chairman  and has been openly supportive of former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i’s expected 2027 presidential bid. He is currently positioning himself for a political comeback in West Mugirango.

The episode reflects growing political undercurrents in Nyamira County, where rival factions linked to current and former leaders continue to compete for influence ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
