CS Murkomen Backs Ruto’s Post-2030 Development Blueprint, Cites Strong Government Record

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has defended President William Ruto’s newly launched Kenya’s New National Development Vision: Beyond Vision 2030, describing it as a roadmap that will deliver sustainable development and improve the livelihoods of Kenyans.
Speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony at St. Stephen’s Secondary School in Kagaari, Embu County, Murkomen said the President’s latest development agenda places national transformation at the heart of government priorities while seeking to guarantee citizens a more dignified future.
“The President is placing development at the centre of his agenda and securing a dignified future for Kenyans. That is why he unveiled the Beyond Vision 2030 agenda yesterday,” he said.
The Cabinet Secretary dismissed criticism from opposition leaders, insisting that Kenya’s development agenda should remain firmly rooted in the Constitution. He argued that constitutional rights and economic advancement are complementary, noting that citizens deserve both political freedoms and meaningful socio-economic progress.
“The right to life cannot be separated from the right to development,” he said.
Murkomen also rejected claims that details of President Ruto’s address had been leaked, maintaining that information about the event had been made public well in advance.
The Kenya’s New National Development Vision: Beyond Vision 2030 is a long-term strategy designed to translate the aspirations of the Constitution into measurable development outcomes while fostering a nation guided by constitutional values and principles.

The Interior CS further defended the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development record in the Mt Kenya region and across the country, expressing confidence that President Ruto would win a second term in the 2027 General Election.
Drawing a comparison with academic performance, Murkomen said the government’s achievements could be assessed through its record of delivery.
“We know whether a student is performing well by looking at their report card, and the Kenya Kwanza report card reflects sterling performance,” he said.

Joseph Mbugua (Roads), Embu Senator Alexander Mundigi, Runyenjes MP Muchangi Karemba, Mbeere South MP Eng. Nebart Muriuki, Embu County Woman Representative Pamela Njoki, Members of County Assembly and other local leaders.
