Seven people have died after a Eurocopter EC130 B4 helicopter crashed at Mt. Ololokwe in Samburu County on Wednesday morning.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) confirmed the fatal accident involving helicopter registration 5Y-GYM, which crashed at approximately 9:13 a.m. local time.

All seven occupants aboard the aircraft died in the crash.

The deceased have been identified as Josh Outran, the pilot, Roger Duarte, Adam Navaty, Stephen Vasconquez, Henry Parra, Michael Contugi, and Suian Suarez, a female passenger.

The helicopter was reportedly operating from the Loisaba area. A police account indicated that the aircraft, locally referred to as “Lady Lorry,” was flying between Soyian/Suiyan in Laikipia and Loisaba Conservancy when it crashed.

Police and emergency response teams were dispatched to the remote crash site located at the foot of Mt. Ololokwe.

KCAA has officially confirmed the incident, while investigations are expected to begin to establish the circumstances and possible cause of the crash.

Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the identities and nationalities of all the victims.
