Shabana Football Club has formally acknowledged receipt of a KSh10 million balance from President William Ruto towards the KSh20 million commitment he made to support the club during its temporary relocation to Afraha Stadium.

In a letter dated August 19, 2026, Shabana FC Secretary General Dr. Elizaphan Kerama thanked President Ruto for fulfilling his pledge, saying the support would help the club as Gusii Stadium undergoes reconstruction and upgrading to international standards.

The club said the KSh10 million payment was received through its team patron, Kisii Governor Simba Arati, completing the KSh20 million support pledged by the President.

Shabana FC also acknowledged the new team bus donated by President Ruto, describing the two interventions as a demonstration of his commitment to sports development, youth empowerment and the growth of Kenyan football.

“Your Excellency, you promised, and you delivered. We are truly grateful,” the club said in the letter.

The club expressed appreciation for the President’s continued support and said the assistance would strengthen its operations during the period of relocation necessitated by the ongoing works at Gusii Stadium.

Shabana FC further wished President Ruto wisdom and strength as he continues to lead the country.

The acknowledgement comes as the club prepares to operate away from its traditional home ground while the stadium undergoes reconstruction and modernisation.
