A day after launching his new political party, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has received two sitting Members of County Assembly who have defected from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Kiambu MCA Esther Irungu and Murang’a MCA Anthony Marubu have officially joined Nyoro’s People’s Party, in what signals growing political activity around the lawmaker ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The defections come as Nyoro moves to establish and expand the party’s grassroots structures, particularly in the Mount Kenya region.

The entry of the two MCAs is expected to strengthen the party’s presence in Kiambu and Murang’a, while potentially setting the stage for more leaders to align themselves with Nyoro ahead of the 2027 polls.

The developments come amid heightened political realignments as leaders across the country position themselves ahead of the next general election.
