Nyamira gubernatorial aspirant Duke Ombagi has intensified his engagement with residents, presenting himself as a leader focused on improving service delivery, strengthening accountability, and accelerating development in the county ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a public address, Ombagi highlighted the need for leadership that responds to the everyday challenges facing residents. He emphasized the importance of prudent management of public resources, improved infrastructure, quality healthcare, support for farmers, and the creation of economic opportunities for young people and women.

The aspirant said Nyamira has significant potential that can be unlocked through transparent governance and better planning, arguing that county resources should be directed towards projects that have a direct impact on residents’ livelihoods.

Ombagi also called for unity among the people of Nyamira, urging residents to look beyond political divisions and focus on electing leaders capable of delivering tangible development. He maintained that public participation and accountability should remain central to county governance.

The address forms part of growing political activity in Nyamira County, where several leaders are expected to contest the governorship in the run-up to the 2027 elections. As campaigns begin to gather momentum, aspirants are outlining their priorities while seeking to win support across the county.

Political analysts say the emerging contest is likely to revolve around key issues such as service delivery, economic empowerment, infrastructure development, healthcare, agriculture, and the effective use of devolved funds. Voters are expected to closely scrutinize the track records, policies, and promises of those seeking to lead the county.
