Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 General Election, as he continues consultations on his bid for the presidency.

Speaking at his Wamunyoro residence, Gachagua said he hosted about 3,000 grassroots mobilisers and political supporters who stood by him during his tenure as Mathira Member of Parliament.

Gachagua thanked the mobilisers for remaining loyal to him throughout his political journey, particularly during what he described as his lowest moments when he was pushed out of government.

He said he briefed the group on ongoing political consultations and sought their blessings as he pursues his ambition to become Kenya’s next President in the August 10, 2027 General Election.

“I have tasked them to take care of home as I move around the country, marshalling support,” Gachagua said.

The former Deputy President also announced plans for a major political rally in Karatina Town on Tuesday afternoon, challenging his supporters to organise what he described as a “mother of all rallies.”

Gachagua said the rally should be unprecedented in Mathira Constituency since independence, signalling an intensified effort to consolidate his support base in the region as he expands his national political mobilisation.

His latest grassroots engagement comes as political formations across the country step up preparations and consultations ahead of the 2027 elections.
