Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday held a consultative meeting with the Linda Mwananchi team, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, at his Karen office as preparations gather pace for the coalition’s tour of Western Kenya.

The meeting focused on strengthening strategic coordination within the United Alternative Government and aligning the coalition’s activities as it seeks to present what its leaders describe as a credible, principled and people-centred alternative ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Dr. Matiang’i said the discussions underscored the importance of unity and regular consultations among coalition partners to ensure a coordinated approach in engaging Kenyans across the country. He noted that the alliance remains committed to working together in advancing its agenda and expanding its national reach.

He further said the coalition would continue with purposeful engagement aimed at restoring accountable leadership, upholding constitutional governance and steering the country towards what it described as a path of national renewal. The upcoming Western Kenya tour is expected to provide the opposition with an opportunity to interact with residents and outline its vision as political activity ahead of the 2027 elections intensifies.
