Wamalwa Courts Mt Kenya Support as DAP-K Expands Regional Footprint

Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa has intensified his push to strengthen the party’s presence in the Mt Kenya region after officially opening the party’s regional office at Turitu in Kiambu County. The event marked another step in DAP-K’s efforts to build grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Wamalwa described the occasion as a personal milestone after being conferred with the status of a Kikuyu elder, saying he was deeply honoured by the recognition. He said the gesture reflected the growing relationship between DAP-K and communities across the Mt Kenya region as the party seeks to broaden its national appeal.

The launch also brought together parliamentary and county assembly aspirants from across the Central Kenya region, who met with the party leadership to discuss preparations for the upcoming elections. Wamalwa encouraged the aspirants to begin early grassroots mobilisation and position themselves as leaders committed to addressing the needs of their constituents.

The Kiambu meeting comes ahead of a planned gathering with Nairobi Region aspirants, underscoring DAP-K’s ongoing recruitment drive and organisational expansion. As political parties continue laying the groundwork for the next general election, Wamalwa is positioning DAP-K as a key player in the evolving opposition landscape while seeking to consolidate support beyond its traditional strongholds.
