Government Launches Construction of Raila Odinga Mausoleum at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi

Senior government officials, led by Oburu Oginga and Raila Odinga Jr., today arrived at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Siaya County for the official commencement of the construction of the proposed Raila Odinga Mausoleum.

The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of a project intended to preserve the legacy of the late Raila Odinga, Kenya’s longtime opposition leader, who died last year after decades at the center of the country’s political landscape.

The event brought together national and county government representatives, members of the Odinga family, political leaders, and residents, who gathered to witness the launch of the memorial project. The mausoleum is expected to serve as a permanent monument honoring Raila’s contributions to Kenya’s democratic struggle, constitutional reforms, and public service.

Construction of the mausoleum officially commenced following the arrival of dignitaries and the groundbreaking ceremony at the historic Kang’o Ka Jaramogi site, the ancestral home of the Odinga family.
