Governor Nyaribo Commissions New Dormitories at Riomego SDA

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving access to quality education through strategic partnerships aimed at expanding learning infrastructure across the county.

Speaking during the commissioning and handover of two newly constructed dormitories at Riomego SDA Senior School, Governor Nyaribo said investing in education infrastructure remains critical to creating a conducive learning environment for students.

The two dormitories, funded by the Safaricom MPesa Foundation, each have a capacity to accommodate 200 students, significantly easing congestion and improving boarding facilities at the institution.

Governor Nyaribo lauded the Safaricom MPesa Foundation for partnering with the county in supporting education, noting that such collaborations complement government efforts to enhance learning facilities and improve educational outcomes.

He expressed gratitude to the foundation, represented by Regional General Manager Gunnila Ouko, for financing the project and reaffirmed the county government’s readiness to continue working with development partners to address infrastructure needs in schools.

The event was attended by County Secretary Dr. Jack Magara, CECM for Health Dr. Donald Mogoi, CECM for Finance Stephen Oboso, CECM for Lands Bernard Maina, CECM for Water and Environment Alice Manoti, Chief Officer for Finance Dr. Asenath Maobe, Chief Officer for Health Andrew Ongere, Chief Officer for Livestock Production Josphat Gori, Chief of Staff Jones Bitange, and other county officials.

Governor Nyaribo said the county will continue strengthening partnerships that support education, emphasizing that improved infrastructure, adequate equipment, and better learning environments are essential for nurturing future generations and driving the county’s socio-economic development.
