Senator Okong’o Mogeni has declared his intention to seek a third term in the Senate, while challenging the government to address compensation concerns affecting residents of North Mugirango and the rising cost of fuel.
Speaking at Kerumbe Village in Borabu Constituency at a funeral Mogeni reaffirmed his political ambitions as he took aim at leaders he accused of interfering in Jubilee Party affairs.
The senatr told North Mugirango Mp Joash Nyomoko to concentrate on the affairs of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and leave Jubilee Party to manage its own internal matters.
Mogeni’s remarks signal renewed political exchanges as leaders position themselves ahead of the next electoral contest, with party loyalties and leadership remaining key issues in the political landscape.

The senator also directed his criticism at President William Ruto’s administration, calling for compensation for residents of North Mugirango. He maintained that the affected residents deserved attention from the national government and urged the President to address their concerns.
On the economic front, Mogeni faulted the government over high fuel prices, citing the cost burden facing Kenyans.
Fuel prices remain a major concern for households and businesses because changes in pump prices can affect transport costs, the movement of goods and the prices of essential commodities.
The senator’s remarks placed political accountability, compensation for affected residents and the rising cost of living at the centre of his address in Kerumbe Village.
Mogeni is now seeking another term in the Senate, setting the stage for what could be a closely watched political contest in the run-up to the next General Election.
