Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, People’s Party of Kenya leader Ndindi Nyoro and Moitalel Ole Kenta are expected to take their political mobilisation to Narok on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The leaders are scheduled to hold a public engagement in Narok Town, with Rungu ya Moi listed as the main venue for their interaction with residents. Matiang’i is also expected to attend a church service at Dominion Church in Olerai before the public meeting.

The Narok programme comes at a time when political leaders are increasing grassroots engagements ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Siaya Governor James Orengo is also expected to join Matiang’i and Nyoro during the visit, bringing together politicians from different parts of the country for the Narok engagement.

For Matiang’i, the Narok visit forms part of his ongoing public engagements after taking over the leadership of Jubilee Party from former President Uhuru Kenyatta. Nyoro, meanwhile, has been building the profile of the People’s Party while maintaining political engagements with leaders across the country.

The two have appeared together at several political events in recent weeks. Nyoro has publicly welcomed cooperation between his party and Jubilee, while Matiang’i has also spoken about working with Nyoro and other opposition leaders.

Narok has increasingly become an important stop for politicians seeking to engage the Maa region as parties and political formations prepare for the next election.

The Sunday gathering is therefore expected to focus on political mobilisation and direct engagement with residents, while also providing an opportunity for the leaders to outline their respective positions on the country’s political direction.

The event comes against a backdrop of wider political realignments, with various parties and leaders holding meetings and public rallies as they seek to strengthen their grassroots networks ahead of 2027.
