The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) and other religious and civil society stakeholders have called on Kenyans to work together to ensure peaceful, credible and transparent elections in 2027.

The call was made on Thursday, September 3, 2026, during a National Stakeholders Convention held at Ufungamano House in Nairobi.

The stakeholders raised concerns over rising political tensions, election-related violence and the use of illicit money to influence voters. They urged Kenyans to reject political bribery and elect leaders based on integrity, leadership record and sound values.

The forum also brought together constitutional agencies, professional bodies and civil society organisations to discuss measures aimed at strengthening Kenya’s democracy and preventing election-related violence.

The stakeholders urged political leaders, religious institutions and citizens to promote peace, accountability and responsible leadership as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election.
