Co-operative Bank of Kenya has expanded its flagship Executive Banking Plus offering to three major regional business centres, taking the Captain’s Club Gala Dinner series to Eldoret, Kisumu and Nakuru.

The expansion follows the success of the inaugural Captain’s Club Gala Dinner Coast Edition held at Tamarind Hotel, Nyali, in April 2026.

The regional rollout began in Eldoret on August 7, followed by Kisumu on August 14 and Nakuru on August 21. Each gala was expected to bring together about 100 guests, comprising existing Executive Banking Plus clients and high-potential prospects drawn from the bank’s retail and business divisions.

The move is part of Co-op Bank’s strategy to extend its premium banking services beyond Nairobi and deepen its engagement with customers in key economic centres.

Eldoret, Kisumu and Nakuru were selected because of their important roles in trade, agriculture, manufacturing and logistics across the Rift Valley and Nyanza regions.

The gala dinners also provide an opportunity to formally activate the bank’s newly established Executive Plus Centres in the three cities. The dedicated facilities are located at Rupa’s Mall in Eldoret, Milimani in Kisumu and Riria Hub in Nakuru.

According to the bank, the centres provide concierge-level banking, wealth planning services and fully equipped executive boardrooms, enabling customers to access its premium banking proposition closer to their home markets.

Speaking during the Eldoret event, Co-operative Bank Head of Executive Banking Fredrick Okello said the Captain’s Club was intended to create a community for some of Kenya’s most ambitious and accomplished clients.

“What we are building with the Captain’s Club is not just a product, but more of a community of Kenya’s most ambitious and accomplished clients,” Okello said.

He added that taking the forum to the three cities demonstrated the bank’s commitment to ensuring that premium banking services were available beyond Nairobi.

The expansion comes against the backdrop of a growing affluent market in Kenya. The Africa Wealth Report 2025 estimates that Kenya has 6,800 millionaires, with Nairobi accounting for 47 per cent of the country’s total private wealth and hosting about 4,200 millionaires.

The report also projects that Africa’s millionaire population will increase by 65 per cent over the next decade, supported by continued economic expansion.

Co-optrust Investment Services Ltd, the bank’s fund management subsidiary, had Assets Under Management of more than KSh500 billion as of June 2025, according to the statement. The figure reflects what the bank describes as growing demand for structured wealth management solutions among Kenya’s affluent population.

Okello said the Captain’s Club was not simply a loyalty programme but a strategic investment in the growth and success of business communities across the country.

The Captain’s Club Network forms a key component of Co-op Bank’s Executive Plus offering. Members receive access to curated networking forums with business leaders, priority engagement with the bank’s investment and advisory teams and a range of exclusive financial benefits.

These include unsecured personal loans of up to KSh10 million, integrated wealth and investment advisory services, Visa Platinum debit and credit cards with travel and lifestyle benefits, priority access to international business delegations and trade trips, as well as dedicated relationship management and concierge-level services.
