Former Chief Justice David Kenani Maraga Arrested

Presidential candidate and former Chief Justice David Kenani Maraga was arrested on Monday after being involved in a protest against a constructing infrastructures in the Nairobi National Park.
Maraga in a group of others were dragged into a police vehicle in Nairobi. The protest was headed by environmental ac and conservation groups . Maraga entered Kenya’s political arena with a presidential bid that centers on integrity, constitutionalism, and accountable leadership. After years of serving in the Judiciary, Maraga says he wants to bring the values of justice and the rule of law into national leadership, presenting himself as an alternative to traditional political figures.
He has also promoted a citizen-funded campaign model, encouraging ordinary Kenyans to contribute small amounts to support his presidential ambitions.
