Kenya Airways has signed a strategic partnership with Art of Luxury aimed at expanding customer loyalty benefits, strengthening brand visibility and introducing travellers to exclusive shopping and lifestyle experiences.

The agreement, signed at the recently opened Art of Luxury shop at GTC Mall in Nairobi, brings together the national carrier and the premium retail destination, which offers international luxury brands.

The partnership includes the bulk purchase of five million Asante Rewards points and joint marketing initiatives across selected Kenya Airways platforms, creating opportunities to connect air travel, luxury retail and customer loyalty.

The signing ceremony was attended by Habil Waswani, Acting Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Airways, and Mahesh Shahani, Chief Executive Officer of Art of Luxury.

Under the agreement, Kenya Airways will promote Art of Luxury through its airport advertising platforms, in-flight magazine, digital content, email communications and video channels.

The two organisations will also explore exclusive luxury experiences for the airline’s premium customers as they seek to create additional value through services that extend beyond conventional air travel.

Partnership targets premium customers

The collaboration is expected to strengthen customer engagement by linking Kenya Airways’ extensive travel network and loyalty programme with Art of Luxury’s premium retail offering.

For Kenya Airways, the partnership presents an opportunity to expand the reach and appeal of Asante Rewards, its loyalty programme, by connecting members with lifestyle and shopping experiences.

The purchase of five million Asante Rewards points is a central component of the agreement, providing a basis for the partners to explore joint promotional activities and customer engagement opportunities.

Loyalty programmes have become an important tool for airlines seeking to maintain long-term relationships with travellers by offering benefits that encourage repeat business and strengthen customer retention.

Through the partnership, Kenya Airways and Art of Luxury intend to explore ways of making their respective brands more accessible to customers while creating opportunities for premium experiences.

The arrangement could also enable Art of Luxury to reach a wider audience through Kenya Airways’ marketing channels, including passengers who interact with the airline through its airport, in-flight and digital platforms.

Joint marketing and brand visibility

The agreement provides for coordinated marketing activities across selected Kenya Airways communication channels, giving Art of Luxury additional exposure to the airline’s customers.

The planned promotional activities will include airport advertising, placements in the airline’s in-flight magazine, digital content, email communications and video.

The use of multiple platforms is expected to increase awareness of Art of Luxury among travellers while strengthening the visibility of both brands.

The partners will also explore future joint campaigns designed to create further engagement with premium customers and develop new opportunities arising from the relationship.

However, specific details regarding the proposed luxury experiences, the redemption arrangements for the five million points and the timelines for future campaigns were not provided in the partnership announcement.

Art of Luxury expands its customer reach

The signing at Art of Luxury’s recently opened outlet at GTC Mall underscores the retail destination’s role in the partnership, which seeks to connect premium shopping with travel-related customer experiences.

Through the collaboration, the retailer will benefit from promotional exposure across selected Kenya Airways platforms, while the airline will have an opportunity to broaden its customer engagement strategy through a partnership with a luxury retail destination.

The arrangement reflects a wider business approach in which organisations from different sectors collaborate to reach new audiences, improve brand recognition and develop complementary customer offerings.

By combining aviation, loyalty rewards and luxury retail, the two companies are seeking to create opportunities for customers to interact with their brands in more ways.

Focus on customer experience

The partnership comes as businesses increasingly seek to differentiate themselves by offering customers more than their core products and services.

For airlines, loyalty programmes provide a way to maintain relationships with customers between trips, while partnerships with retailers and lifestyle brands can introduce additional experiences to their travel journey.

For premium retailers, collaborations with airlines offer opportunities to reach travellers and customers who may be interested in high-end products and personalised services.

The Kenya Airways-Art of Luxury agreement is expected to support these objectives through joint marketing, the use of Asante Rewards points and the exploration of exclusive experiences for premium customers.

The two organisations have also left room for further collaboration through future campaigns, although the nature and scope of those initiatives will depend on subsequent plans.

The partnership therefore establishes a framework for Kenya Airways and Art of Luxury to explore new ways of engaging customers while strengthening their respective brands in the travel and luxury retail markets.
