Kenya Treasures Collaboration to Combat Online Fraud, Says Murkomen

Interior and National Administration CS Kipchumba Murkomen has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to collaborate with partners and intensify the fight against online fraud in the country.

“Kenya expresses its strong willingness to collaborate with partners to ensure the country remains ahead in the proactive fight against online criminal networks,” he said.

The CS was speaking in Lianyungang, China, where he delivered a statement on Kenya’s commitment to join the International Alliance for Combating Telecom and Cyber Fraud.

He welcomed the collaboration and assured Kenya’s commitment to working closely with partners and stakeholders to prevent, detect, investigate, and prosecute online criminal networks, while promoting the responsible use of technology and upholding the rule of law.

“We believe that such a framework should promote the responsible use of technology while respecting national sovereignty, human rights, and the rule of law,” he said.

Murkomen was accompanied by Kenya’s Chargé d’Affaires in China, Lynette Mwende Ndile, and NPS Accounting Officer Bernice Lemedeket, among other officials.
