The People’s Renaissance Movement Party, led by party leader Caleb Amisi, on Tuesday officially unveiled its Women’s League, marking what the party described as a major step towards strengthening women’s participation in leadership and national politics.

Speaking during the launch, Amisi said the party is committed to providing opportunities for all Kenyans to participate in the country’s political landscape, regardless of age or gender.

He emphasized that PM Party is determined to empower young people by giving them leadership opportunities, pointing to the party’s decision to field a candidate in the recently concluded Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election as evidence of its commitment to youth inclusion.

Amisi described women as a vital pillar of society and an indispensable force in politics, noting that they have significant influence during elections.

“Women are an integral part of society. Once they agree to support a candidate or a cause, they vote overwhelmingly and can shape the outcome of an election,” he said.

The PM Party leader also reiterated his party’s intention to work with other like-minded political parties to form a united front against President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.

According to Amisi, cooperation among opposition parties will be key to presenting Kenyans with an alternative leadership.

He also criticized the current Parliament, claiming it has failed in its constitutional oversight role and has not effectively held the Executive accountable.

The unveiling of the Women’s League is expected to strengthen PRM’s grassroots structures as the party continues its nationwide recruitment and preparations ahead of the 2027 General Election.
