Tenwek High School Receives Bus as Murkomen Urges Students to Uphold Discipline

Tenwek High School has received a new school bus after Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen presented the vehicle on behalf of President William Ruto during the school’s prize-giving and students’ motivation day.

Addressing students, Murkomen commended the institution for its consistent record of academic excellence and for producing graduates who have gone on to excel in leadership and various professional fields.

He challenged learners to embrace personal discipline, describing it as the foundation of academic success and responsible leadership.

Murkomen urged students to remain focused on their education, respect school rules and make decisions that would positively shape their future, noting that discipline and hard work remain essential ingredients for success in life.

The Cabinet Secretary also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting education through continued investment in learning institutions and the provision of infrastructure and resources that enhance students’ learning experience.

The event was attended by Basic Education Principal Secretary John Ololtuaa and Environment and Climate Change Principal Secretary Dr. Eng. Festus Ng’eno.

Also present were Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei, Members of Parliament Linet Chepkorir, Richard Kilel and Joyce Korir, former Members of Parliament Wilson Sossion, Benard Bett and Nick Salat, as well as Members of the County Assembly.

Senior government officials in attendance included Bomet County Commissioner Caroline Nzwili and County Administration Police Commander Damaris Wambugu.

The prize-giving ceremony recognized outstanding academic performers and students who excelled in leadership and co-curricular activities. School administrators welcomed the donation of the bus, saying it would improve transport for educational trips, competitions and other school programmes.
