Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday hosted a delegation of leaders from the South Rift at his Wamunyoro residence for what he described as a consultative meeting on the country’s political and governance landscape.

The meeting brought together representatives from the South Rift region to discuss issues affecting the country, regional development priorities, and the need for continued engagement with citizens ahead of future political realignments. The consultations form part of a series of meetings Gachagua has been holding with leaders and delegations from different parts of the country at his Wamunyoro home.

The engagements come amid heightened political activity as opposition leaders intensify consultations and seek to consolidate support across various regions.

Gachagua has maintained that the consultations are aimed at listening to wananchi, promoting inclusive leadership, and building a united front on matters of governance and national development.

The South Rift meeting adds to a growing list of regional delegations that have visited Wamunyoro in recent months, underscoring the residence’s emerging role as a key venue for political consultations.
