Nairobi, Kenya – KCB Bank Kenya, in partnership with Mastercard, has launched the KCB SAHL Credit Card and SAHL Banking Agency, marking a significant step in expanding Sharia-compliant financial services in Kenya.

The products, unveiled on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, are aimed at increasing access to convenient, secure and inclusive banking solutions, particularly for customers seeking Islamic banking services.

The KCB SAHL Credit Card is designed to facilitate seamless and secure local and international transactions while adhering to Sharia principles. Customers will be able to make payments conveniently without the need to carry cash, reducing the risks associated with handling large amounts of money.

In addition, the SAHL Banking Agency will expand access to banking services through the KCB Mtaani Agent network, enabling customers to conduct transactions closer to where they live and work without visiting a banking hall.

According to KCB, the new solutions will support Muslim entrepreneurs and traders by providing Sharia-compliant financial services that promote business growth and financial inclusion.

Customers using the SAHL platform will be able to access a range of banking services, including saving, depositing and withdrawing money, while enjoying secure and convenient transactions. The initiative is also expected to enhance access to banking services in underserved areas by leveraging the extensive KCB Mtaani Agent network.

Although the products are primarily tailored for customers seeking Sharia-compliant banking, KCB said they are also available to non-Muslims who wish to use financial products that comply with Islamic banking principles.

KCB Bank expressed gratitude to Mastercard for its partnership in developing the new products, noting that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering innovative and inclusive financial solutions that meet the diverse needs of customers across Kenya.
