The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a director of a private security company over alleged procurement irregularities involving a KSh5.4 million security services tender at Keroka Technical Training Institute.

The suspect, identified as Gilbert Momanyi Maturwe, a director of Gimo Security and Investigation Services Limited, was apprehended on Tuesday as investigations into the award and execution of the disputed contract intensified.

According to the anti-graft agency, Maturwe is suspected of involvement in fraudulent dealings surrounding the procurement process for security services at the institution.

EACC said the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to combat corruption and safeguard public resources. Investigators have been examining how the tender was awarded and whether due procedures were followed.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned before Chief Magistrate’s Court No. 1 in Kisii on Wednesday, June 24, where he will face charges related to the alleged tender fraud.
