Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i on Tuesday arrived at Nyamagenga in Kegonga, Kuria East Constituency, Migori County, where he joined family, friends and residents in paying their final respects to Mama Sofia Boke Muruga.

Mama Sofia, who was the sister of Hon. Paul Kibiriti, was laid to rest in a ceremony attended by relatives, local leaders and members of the community who gathered to celebrate her life and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.

Dr Matiang’i conveyed his condolences to the family and prayed for strength and comfort during the difficult period. He noted that the loss of a loved one is a painful experience and urged mourners to remain united as they support one another in grief.

The former Interior CS joined other mourners in honoring the memory of Mama Sofia, whose life and legacy were remembered fondly by those who knew her. The gathering provided an opportunity for family members and friends to reflect on her impact and bid her a fitting farewell.

“May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant comfort and strength to her family and loved ones,” Dr Matiang’i said.
