Dr. Fred Matiang’i today visited Ichuni Ward MCA Wycliffe “Embande” Siocha at a hospital in Kisii County, where the ward representative is recovering following a recent attack. Matiang’i spent time with the MCA and his family, expressing concern about his condition and wishing him a quick recovery. The visit attracted attention from local leaders and residents who gathered at the facility.

Speaking during the visit, Matiang’i emphasized the need for peace and respect among political leaders regardless of their differences. He noted that violence should never be allowed to take root in society and urged authorities to ensure that those responsible for the attack are brought to justice. He also encouraged residents to remain calm as investigations continue.

The former Interior Cabinet Secretary said leaders have a responsibility to promote unity and protect democratic space. He called on security agencies to conduct thorough investigations into the incident and provide answers to the public.
