Riara University has launched an internal review following the circulation of a video appearing to show several women threatening and assaulting another woman in what appears to be a public bathroom.

In a statement, the university said it had been informed that some of the individuals featured in the video are reportedly students at the institution.

The university condemned the alleged incident, saying violence, intimidation, bullying, harassment and other forms of misconduct have no place within its community.

Although the incident is reported to have occurred off-campus, Riara University said the alleged conduct goes against its institutional values and the provisions of its Student Code of Conduct.

“The University leadership has initiated an internal review of the matter in accordance with our Student Code of Conduct and institutional policies,” the institution said.

The university also said it would cooperate with investigative authorities as inquiries into the incident continue.

The development comes amid growing concern over incidents involving students that occur outside university premises but potentially have implications for institutional disciplinary processes and student welfare.

Riara University said it remains committed to providing a safe, respectful and responsible academic environment and will handle the matter in accordance with its policies.

The identities of the individuals in the video and the circumstances surrounding the alleged confrontation have not been independently established. The university’s internal review and any investigations by authorities are expected to establish what happened and whether disciplinary or legal action is warranted.
