Story by Monyonge O’kebati

Jubilee Party Leader Dr. Fred Matiang’i on Thursday joined family, friends and the Daystar University community in mourning Mrs. Agnes Malesi Ayiro, the late wife of Daystar University Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro.
Matiang’i attended the requiem Mass held in honour of Agnes, who passed away on September 21, 2026.
During the service, Matiang’i conveyed his condolences and prayers to Prof. Ayiro, his family and members of the Daystar University community as they came together to remember and celebrate the life of the late Agnes.
The gathering brought together relatives, friends, colleagues and members of the university community to pay their final respects to a woman remembered as a beloved wife and family member.

In his message of condolence, Matiang’i offered prayers for strength and comfort to the bereaved family during the period of mourning.
The service was marked by messages of faith, remembrance and hope, as mourners reflected on Agnes’ life and her place within her family and wider community.
The family drew comfort from the words of Scripture in Revelation 21:4: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Agnes Malesi Ayiro will be laid to rest following the funeral arrangements by her family.
May her soul rest in eternal peace
