Octagon Africa Financial Services has opened a new office in Mombasa as part of its strategy to expand its presence across Kenya and bring financial solutions closer to customers in the coastal region.

The office, located on the ninth floor of Epic Business Centre, is expected to improve access to financial services, strengthen customer relationships and support individuals, families and businesses in achieving long-term financial security.

The expansion comes amid growing attention among employers to employee benefits and the need for individuals and businesses to plan for retirement, build wealth and secure their financial futures.

Mombasa’s diverse economy, supported by trade, tourism, hospitality, logistics, manufacturing, oil, professional services and small and medium-sized enterprises, presents opportunities for financial service providers to meet the needs of a wide range of customers.

Speaking during the opening, Octagon Africa Group Chief Executive Officer Fred Waswa said the new office was a strategic investment in the company’s growth ambitions and its commitment to serving customers across the country.

“Mombasa is a fast-growing city in Kenya, and we would like to be part of this growth,” Waswa said, noting that the coastal region offered opportunities across multiple economic sectors.

He said businesses in the region had diverse financial needs, including retirement planning, employee benefits, insurance, investment and wealth preservation.

Waswa added that the company intends to build closer relationships with employers and individuals while providing solutions tailored to their financial priorities.

The Mombasa office also strengthens Octagon Africa’s partnership with Alexforbes, a collaboration aimed at enhancing the delivery of employee benefits and other financial services in the Kenyan market.

Through the partnership, Octagon Africa’s local market presence and customer relationships will be complemented by Alexforbes’ experience and capabilities in employee benefits and financial services.

Alexforbes Chief Commercial Officer Craig Bentley said the opening reflected the organisation’s commitment to expanding access to financial solutions for clients in the coastal region.

“This move aligns with Alexforbes’ objective to offer opportunities and growth across the African region, and strategically into specific markets such as Kenya, while at the same time reinforcing key relationships with our key partners such as Octagon Africa,” Bentley said.

The collaboration is expected to create opportunities for deeper engagement with businesses, the exploration of new markets and the development of integrated financial solutions that respond to the changing needs of employers, workers and the wider business community.

For employers, the services could support efforts to strengthen staff welfare through employee benefits and retirement arrangements, while individuals may gain improved access to investment and long-term financial planning services.

The opening of the Mombasa office forms part of Octagon Africa’s broader strategy to expand its regional footprint, diversify its services and strengthen its position as a comprehensive financial services provider.

The company also aims to promote greater awareness of financial planning and encourage wider participation in formal financial solutions, particularly in retirement and investment planning.

With the new office, Octagon Africa is seeking to establish a stronger presence in the coastal market while building relationships with businesses and individuals looking for ways to manage their financial needs and prepare for the future.
