Jubilee Party leaders have pledged to strengthen the party, promote unity and work with like-minded political actors as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a Jubilee Party gathering, Dr Fred Matiangi also the jubilee presidential candidate thanked former President Uhuru Kenyatta for his service to the country and for the leadership he provided during his time in government.
Fred Matiangi also described Uhuru Kenyatta as a friend, teacher and mentor, recalling the opportunity to serve in his administration and learn from his leadership.
He also praised the former President’s approach to political inclusion, saying his administration sought to bring together people from different communities and backgrounds.
He said Jubilee should remain a party for everyone and called on members to work together to preserve the party’s legacy.
“2027 is going to be a year of inclusion, a year of defining and rebuilding leadership,” he said.
The speaker said Jubilee was open to working with other political groups and individuals who share its vision for the country’s future.
He emphasized that political cooperation would require both democracy and discipline, urging party members to respect the party’s structures while allowing different opinions to be expressed.
According to him disagreements within a democratic party are expected, but members should use established party structures to resolve their differences.
He also called for the strengthening of Jubilee’s organs ahead of the party’s planned National Delegates Conference and other activities aimed at preparing the party for the next phase of its political journey.
The leadership further pledged to engage Jubilee members across the country, listen to their concerns and involve them in shaping the party’s direction.
He also said the party would seek to rebuild public confidence through what he described as honest, trustworthy and accountable leadership.
He also called for reconciliation and cooperation among Kenyans, arguing that the country requires leadership focused on better management of public affairs and national unity.
The Jubilee leadership concluded by calling on members to pray for and support their leaders as the party begins what it described as a new chapter.
The speaker reiterated his commitment to working with other Jubilee leaders and members to strengthen the party and prepare it for the political activities ahead of the 2027 General Election.
